Tour update: Culture Club; Counting Crows/Rob Thomas

I'm glad to hear Boy George and the crew (who I reviewed here recently) will be returning. The shows are not to be missed...

Culture Club's first full world tour in more than 12 years will span 40 cities throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Australia and Asia. Known for such hits as “Karma Chameleon,” “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” and “Miss Me Blind,” the band will kick-off their tour in June in Australia. A list of the new U.S. tour dates are listed below. Tickets are on sale now through local venues. Additional tour dates are also set to be announced soon.

The Grammy Award–winning English group -
Mikey Craig (bass guitar), Roy Hay (guitar/keyboards), Jon Moss (drums/percussion) and the Boy George (lead vocals) - received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans last year as they reunited and toured 20 cities in North America.

Counting Crows and Rob Thomas will also unite this summer for their first tour together.

Pre-sale and VIP tickets go on sale Tuesday, April 12 at 10am local time through Thursday, April 14 at 10PM local and tickets will be available to the general public starting Friday, April 15. Citi pre-sale kicks off Wednesday, April 13 through Thursday, April 14 at 10PM local time. Local Ticketmaster, radio and venue presales will run Thursday, April 14 from 10am to 10pm.

For Counting Crows, the tour announcement comes on the heels of their recent news of an exciting run of European shows, which includes a slot for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in Rome, Italy. Latest release, 2014’s ‘Somewhere Under Wonderland’, earned critical acclaim and scored a top 10 debut.

The upcoming tour celebrates Rob Thomas’ third solo effort, 'The Great Unknown,' which was released last year. The album had a Top 10 debut on the Soundscan/Billboard 200 chart and was produced by longtime collaborator Matt Serletic, Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic), Ricky Reed (twenty one pilots), and Shep Goodman & Aaron Accetta (American Authors) and features the hit single, “Hold On Forever” as well as the soon-to-be released “Pieces.”

"Twenty years ago Rob and I were like kids running around Italy in the middle of the night getting drunk and playing gigs. I still love nothing more than touring with my friends. This is going to be a great summer,” said Adam Duritz.

"Music is about good friends getting together and celebrating life. Our fans are going to be doing that in the audience and we will be doing that on stage as well. Bring on the summer!" said Rob Thomas.
